Understanding oily, blemish-prone skin
Breakouts are not just a teenage concern. Many adults in Milton Keynes and Bletchley come to Glow By Yaz with spots that flare around hormones, stress or changes in skincare, and with the marks and texture they leave behind.
Blemish-prone skin usually involves a combination of factors: excess oil, a build-up of dead skin cells that blocks pores, bacteria and inflammation. A good programme addresses all of these together, and is gentle enough that the skin barrier stays healthy.
The mesoestetic Blemiderm programme
Blemiderm is a professional programme from mesoestetic for oily, blemish-prone skin. It combines in-clinic treatment with a home-care routine, so your skin is supported every day between appointments, not just when you visit.
Yaz will explain exactly what your programme includes, how often you will visit and which products you will use at home.

It helps to separate two concerns:
- Active breakouts: red, inflamed spots, blackheads and congestion. The first priority is calming these, which is what the Blemiderm programme is designed for.
- Scarring and marks: indented scars and darker marks left after spots have healed. These are addressed once breakouts are under control, often with microneedling for the appearance of acne scarring or a pigmentation treatment for post-acne marks.
Severe, painful, cystic or rapidly worsening acne should be seen by your GP or a dermatologist. Yaz will tell you if she feels medical treatment is the right first step, and can work alongside it where appropriate.
Your programme at Glow By Yaz
Your £20 consultation, in clinic or by video, is where Yaz looks at your skin, asks about your history, hormones, diet and lifestyle, and reviews the products and any medicines you use. Breakouts often improve simply by removing products that are not right for your skin, so she will look at your whole routine.
If Blemiderm suits you, Yaz will explain the in-clinic steps, the home-care routine and how progress will be reviewed.
Home care between visits
Home care is where most of the day-to-day progress happens. Yaz will give you a simple routine and show you how to use it. General principles:
- cleanse gently twice a day; avoid harsh scrubs
- use the active products exactly as directed, and introduce them gradually
- moisturise, even if your skin is oily
- wear SPF 30 or higher every morning, as some actives make skin more sensitive to the sun
- do not squeeze or pick, which can lead to marks and scarring
- change pillowcases and clean phone screens regularly
What to expect, and when
Skin cells renew roughly every four to six weeks, so it takes time to see the effect of any programme. Some people notice less oiliness and congestion within a few weeks; others see a temporary flare as pores clear. Yaz will review your skin regularly and adjust the plan. Individual results vary.
